F1 merchandise

F1 is back (queue the airhorns and explosions). If you’re keen on the sport and want to know where, how and when you can watch races, we’ve created the ultimate crib sheet to ensure you never miss a lap with the how-to-watch guide.

If you’re a fan, want to get your hands on a bit of F1 merchandise, or have a niece or nephew who loves racing cars, we’ve also got some suitably F1-themed products to hopefully inspire you or them to become the next best thing in open wheel racing.

Whether it's a team cap, polo or a mini helmet, we’ve rounded up all the best products and merch to ensure you have everything you need to rep your team or favourite driver. Be smart, though, because if your favourite driver is still on the same team, some of last year's polos can be found at a mega discount. Let’s take a look.

Formula 1 team merchandise

Alfa Romeo

New for 2023, the Alfa Romeo polo features more black and updated sponsors but with the same red strip. This officially licensed product features a zipped pocket on the chest, a tennis tail for comfort, and is a blend of 60% cotton, 30% polyester, and 10% elastane.

Pros

  • Licensed product
  • Comfortable

Cons

  • Last year polo is at a significant discount

Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN 2022 Team Polo
Price: $37.80 (Was £70.00)

f1store.formula1.com

If you don’t mind wearing last season's look, you might be able to grab a bargain here. While it carries the Orlen sponsor, which can now be seen on the AlphaTauri car for 2023, the team’s name in big letters across the front and back lets people know whom you support.

Pros

  • Good discount
  • Only one season old

Cons

  • Select sizes available

AlphaTauri

Scuderia AlphaTauri 2022 Team Polo

Scuderia AlphaTauri 2022 Team Polo
Price: $29.25 (Was £65.00)

AlphaTauri hasn’t released their 2023 team kit yet, which is good news for you because their 2022 kit is still available to buy at a knockdown price. We don’t know what the new merch will look like, but given that the car’s livery is reversed, we’ll guess they’ll do the same with the clothing, too.

Pros

  • Big discount
  • Looks good

Cons

  • Not the latest season

Scuderia AlphaTauri 2022 Team Cap – France GP
Price: $13.95 (Was £30.00)

f1store.formula1.com

In 2022, AlphaTauri had reason to celebrate at the French GP as Pierre Gasly was in the team, and it was his home race. Now that Gasly has left for Alpine, this hat is yours for a huge discount.

Pros

  • Better than half-price
  • Nice design

Cons

  • Last season cap

Alpine

Alpine's t-shirts look a bit like football kits, and we think that’s OK – they’re not terrible by any stretch, and we love the sponsor’s colours here. BWT, of course, is famed for its pink colour on race cars.

Pros

  • Looks good
  • Nice design
  • Range of sizes available

Cons

  • The 2022 kit is still available

If you fancy something for the cooler months, then a gilet is a good option – Alpine has your torso covered here with it. This is the same gilet that the team staff, pit crew and drivers will use in the pit lane.

Pros

  • 2023 spec
  • As worn by the team

Cons

  • It is pricy considering it doesn't come with sleeves

Aston Martin

Many people are excited by this move as Fernando Alonso stretches out his experience for yet another year in F1. Adorned in the latest sponsors and Fernando’s name and number on the back, you won’t have people guessing who you’re supporting.

Pros

  • Performance technology fabric
  • Designed by Hugo Boss

Cons

  • The 2022 kit is still available

Ferrari

Keep warm and suitably branded in this loud and very red Ferrari hoodie. Updated for the current season, this hoodie features black shoulders and the usual array of sponsors next to the prancing horse.

Pros

  • Looks good
  • Subtle branding

Cons

  • 2022 options still available at a discount

If you’re a fan of Ferrari over a specific driver, then the nod to the Italian flag on this cap instead of the driver’s colours might be what you need.

Pros

  • Looks cool
  • Ferrari (that's all, really)

Cons

  • The price is high for a cap

Haas

For an odd reason we cannot think of, Haas merch isn’t available in the F1store, you can get it elsewhere, but you’re left with only 2022 stuff. But, if you loved Mick Schumacher at Haas, then you might like this.

Pros

  • Official merchandise

Cons

  • Still at a high price

Guenther King Classic T-Shirt
Price: $13.55 (Was £16.93)

www.redbubble.com

Not official merchandise from Haas, but if you’re a fan of the team, or Drive To Survive, then you’re probably a fan of Guenther Steiner. This novelty tee could be a great gift for the Guenther fan in your life.

Pros

  • Funny design

Cons

  • Not official merchandise

McLaren

New for ’23, the McLaren team have this, their contrasting colour t-shirt for set-up. McLaren, of course, is no stranger to having different colour t-shirts. We think back to the Rocket Red the team used to rock when they’d win a race.

Pros

  • Looks cool
  • Nice colour contrast

Cons

  • McLaren team wear hasn’t been known to be the most durable in the past

Pros

  • Nice looking polo
  • Regular fit

Cons

  • McLaren team wear hasn’t been known to be the most durable in the past

Mercedes

The Mercedes W14, built for the 2023 season, has returned to black like the W11 and W12. The team kit has been black for a while now, and this ’23 spec rain jacket looks the business to us.

Pros

  • Looks cool
  • Great for wet race weekends

Cons

  • The ‘replica’ collection so it suggests it’s not exactly what the team wear

Release your inner Toto Wolff with this crisp white shirt. Yes, the team sponsor logos adorn it, but you can pretend to be Toto. All you need now is a set of Bose headphones to smash, and away you go.

Pros

  • Look like Toto
  • 96% Cotton

Cons

  • Difficult to wear at dinner parties

Red Bull

Red Bull changed their clothing sponsor for 2023. They ditched Puma and brought in Castore. So while the RB19 is strikingly similar to the RB18, at least their team kit is slightly different.

Pros

  • Probably the most different from 2022
  • Officially licenced

Cons

  • The 2022 kit is still available at a lower price

If you fancy a bit of nostalgia from the ’22 World Drivers Champion, this bright orange Verstappen polo will fit you right at home with the orange army who follow Verstappen worldwide.

Pros

  • Probably the most different from 2022
  • Officially licenced

Cons

  • The 2022 kit is still available at a lower price

Williams

When the rumour started circulating that Gulf was returning to F1 and sponsoring Williams, we all had images of the classic livery coming back, too. Sadly, this isn’t the case, nor is it the case with their team kit. But this training kit looks nice and could be good for you down the gym.

Pros

  • Nice design
  • Nice colours

Cons

  • The 2022 kit is still available at a lower price

If you don’t want to wear the training kit and look a bit more professional, there’s always the team edition polo you could wear. A bit more understated and a little bit more professional looking. One for the golf course, maybe.

Pros

  • A bit more understated
  • Classic look

Cons

  • 2021 polos are still available at a lower price

F1 accessories and gifts

If you don’t want to get a bit of team merch if you’re buying for someone else or fancy something a little bit different, there is other great F1 merchandise available, but here are a few.

This scale model of Lewis Hamilton’s W13 is quite steady if you push it around. It doesn’t even bounce if you drop it. However, it is still pretty realistic, and it’s likely as close as you’ll get to driving an F1 car

Oracle Red Bull Racing RB18 No.1 Winner Suadi Arabia GP 2022 - Max Verstappen 118 Model
Price: $63.75 (Was £75.00)

f1store.formula1.com

More expensive than the Mercedes above because it’s bigger and, well, it was the car which took Max Verstappen to his second World Driver’s Championship and Red Bull to the Constructors Championship for the first time in years.

For the Monaco Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton ran a one-off helmet design. You can buy a mini version of it to keep in your home. It might make for a nice paperweight or something.

Cheap and cheerful key rings will keep the F1 fan in your life happy. Maybe it’s a friendly reminder of that race you went to or a particular favourite track. Or one for each set of keys.

It’s Sunday afternoon, and there’s nothing better to do than sit down and watch the F1 undisturbed. What better way to showcase this than have these on your socks while you put your feet up and watch away?
