Naveed Hussain

Naveed is a commercial content writer for CAR and Parkers, where he has the exciting job of putting all the industry’s latest and greatest products through their paces.

From car wax to fire extinguishers, if it has a place in your car then Naveed will investigate it, providing you with the best advice to make your next purchase as smooth as a Swiss road.

Before turning his hand to the automotive industry Naveed was testing something other than products, hypotheses. He spent 6 years at university where he left in 2019 with a PhD in Chemical and Process Engineering and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering. Naveed’s testing methods are meticulous, and the results are always true to the science.

When COVID came along Naveed was forced to leave academia and create a community online, which went well because the rest of the world was also stuck indoors and resorted to watching his YouTube videos. Performance cars, electric cars, and even supercars, Naveed likes to explore almost anything with four wheels to feature on his channel.

After a brief stint at Hotcars and autoevolution Naveed made his way to the offices of Bauer in August 2024 where he fitted right into automotive hub. ‘It’s like talking to friends I haven’t seen in while; we can spend hours talking about the most obscure parts of the motoring industry.’

When he’s not at his desk Naveed tries to find any way that he can organise a road trip and get away. He insists ‘There’s a huge world out there, and cars give us access to millions of miles of road. If you want to truly experience a place, drive there.’ His highlights include chasing the sunlight at John O’Groats during the NC500, taking a car train through the Swiss alps (literally through them), and cruising into Las Vegas with the Hangover movie soundtrack playing.

Aside from cars, Naveed enjoys playing board games but doesn’t have a great win/lose ratio.

Naveed’s buying tips for readers

“Quality is always better than quantity. Nobody wants to buy the same products multiple times so it’s always wise to spend a little more and ensure you have a quality product. The last thing anyone wants is to spend more money down the line.”

“The best way to determine if a product is fit for purpose is by consulting those who have purchased it before you, and that’s why product reviews are a gold mine when it comes to deciding. Online blogs and other review articles can also be hugely valuable, so don’t neglect them.”
